Management of Hospital Overcrowding
Grady EMS policy requires that ambulances transport to the patient's hospital of choice. Field crews receive regular updates about hospital wait times, which they communicate to patients. Patients are able to make an informed decision about hospital choice and often change destination choice. If this is the case, the diverted hospital is notified.[1]
